A Thousand Year Old Remedy for Stress

Stress-related diseases and health issues that arise from stress are one of the major causes of increased medical expenditures and insurance claims in the US and all over the world. Stress can affect our body and mind. It makes a big impact on our thoughts and feelings resulting in a marked change in our behavior. When stress grows to the extent that it affects our immune system, the body becomes vulnerable to various infections that can cause serious ailments and threaten the well-being and happiness of our life.

With the changing lifestyles and the technological advancement, our efforts to get work done reduces but does that mean we can be at peace all through our lives? Most common issues that keep us awake at night include but are not limited to;

  • Will I have enough money saved to live a good retired life?
  • Am I happy with the way things are going on in my life currently?

Such questions do keep coming into our minds almost all the time and they tend to induce stress and anxiety which can further lead to other medical complications and problems.

For thousands of years, humankind has taken comfort in bringing their minds under control through the use of aromatherapy. It must have been an accidental discovery when some of our ancestors smelt a flower or a particular bark of a tree that triggered the release of certain hormones in their body that helped them feel good. This was the beginning of using various aromas to tackle stress and feel refreshed and rejuvenated.

I made these simple changes in my schedule to reduce stress, stay refreshed and sleep better.

  • I used my favorite fragrance aroma oil and a dispenser from Chesapeake Bay to give myself weeks of aromatherapy and the results are stunning.
  • I tried the calmness, asleep and relax essential oils and trust me, I have been sleeping like a baby since the last few weeks

Chesapeake Bay Diffuser

Essential Oils Collection

The Chesapeake Bay Essential Oils give out a unique and distinct aroma that assures peaceful rest even when you are just unwinding after a hectic workday. Trust me on this, I just open their Relax oil in the diffuser after my day at the office and the rosemary and sage combination just takes my mind to another level. I’ve never felt so relaxed and focused in the evenings lately.

Most important of all, I have the Asleep essential oil diffused in my bedroom which has a perfect lavender aroma that is helping me fall asleep quicker and I wake up a good half an hour earlier than usual after a surprisingly sound sleep.

    I love love love my essential oils! They make such a difference for my whole family. My boys will ask for them by saying they need the “calming oils” which is their way of asking for Lavender in the diffusers in their rooms.

    We use essential oils all of the time. I definitely agree with you about them helping with sleep. I also found that some of them were really effective at keeping my anxiety down.

    Stress is definitely one of those things that can plague everyone – but it definitely does affect people differently. I love using my oils to tone it down just a little bit and be able to relax.

    Oh, I wish I could try these! (My hubby is very sensitive to smells so essential oils are a no-go in our house.) I have a lavender eyemask that I used to use, but even that smell bothers him and disturbs HIS sleep 🙁
