How I managed to carve out an hour in my day for my health with Ladder
If you are like me, a knowledge employee, who dedicates more than 45 hours a week to the job that pays the bills, you are probably wondering how to fit in an hour every day for yourself to cultivate a healthy and active lifestyle. Most likely, you fall into the category of people who seem to struggle to find time in their daily routine to exercise and stay active.
At your regular health checkup with your primary care physician, they may suggest lowering your carb or sugar intake. However, the majority of healthcare professionals will also promote the benefits of regular exercise in some form or another to fight off common health ailments.
What if I told you that it IS possible to carve out time for exercise every day – would you take some time to keep reading and find out how I changed my schedule to promote a healthier lifestyle?
My living community conveniently has a health center and gymnasium, but the only problem is, my 9 – 5 workday leaves me feeling drained with very little time left to work out. Every day, I promise myself that I will exercise in the gym at the end of the day. However, as we know, the work day can be busy, stressful and sometimes outright tiring. Even though I had made a promise to myself, the fact that I was tired, stressed out and waiting to lie on my couch and gobble up a precooked meal usually overpowered my desire to hit the gym.
I knew this was not right and I needed a break. Since I am always on my mobile device, I naturally began searching through the app store for something that would give me the motivation to change. I tried a few fitness apps but none of them really clicked until I came across the Ladder app.
Here is what really drew me in:
I have my own goals and I can set them for myself:
In the past when I signed up for a gym, the trainer there created a generic program for me to follow for my workouts. In contrast, Ladder allows you to enter customized fitness goals that are realistic and achievable based on the information (lose a couple of inches around the waist, maintain a healthy BMI and a fixed weight) that you provide at the time of registration. If your habits change, you can go back and change the information to raise the bar and keep pushing yourself.
Ladder really helps you save money:
While a gym membership has cost me around $200/month in the past, the Ladder app is available at almost 1/4th of this cost per month. I know you are thinking, there must be so many missing features at that low of a price point, but before you judge, just read the next few paragraphs.
Get matched with your very own personal trainer:
Based on my goals and responses to the initial questionnaire, Ladder provided me with up to three highly qualified coaches to potentially move forward with. I bet you a coffee that you haven’t asked for the credentials and qualifications of the trainer in the gym before.
With Ladder, you get to see their creds upfront and you can decide who you’d like to select. After reading through the information provided about the three coaches I was presented with, I decided to go with a trainer named Kerri. I loved the fact that Kerri runs half marathons (something I have always wanted to do) and she seemed very dedicated to her passion for fitness (she even left her desk job to pursue her training dreams!)
Direct interaction and consultation:
You and your chosen trainer can interact as many times and as frequently as you want through the app. You can even see sample workouts that your trainer will set up for you and immediately inform him/ her if you feel uncomfortable doing something or are unable to do a particular exercise correctly or safely. After all, doing things the right way gets you results, not just a high number of reps.
Custom programs and progress tracking
Your trainer will build a custom program for you that will help you meet your fitness goals, with safety as their primary objective.
See the weekly workout schedule and plan accordingly
Since the app can go with you wherever, you can check out your weekly plan and find the motivation to get active. Go for a rest day in the middle of the week to catch up on those tedious office tasks or simply turn off all screens and catch up on your sleep.
After my experience, I can say that Ladder is convenient, and truly does save you time and money. I use Ladder three times a week and look forward to working with Kerri, who is aware of my problem areas and regularly gives me a feedback on my workouts and points out areas where I can improve. I recommend Ladder to all of you and I can guarantee you won’t have any regrets while taking a step towards a healthier lifestyle. Go ahead, download the Ladder app and get your own trainer to help you with your fitness goals. Getting started is easy! Just follow these simple steps:

September 28, 2018 at 1:09 amThis app sounds wonderful! I hardly have time for working out at home, no way I can make it to the gym for a personal trainer. I love the idea of connecting with a real person and getting custom schedules. I might be able to stay on track with this!

September 29, 2018 at 4:21 pmLadder looks like a great useful idea! Many of us don’t have so much free time every day and although I don’t prefer the apps to workout, I would love to give it a try.
