How to Eat Better in the New Year!

Thank you Freschetta Gluten Free Pizza for sponsoring this post. Start the year off right with delicious frozen pizza that just happens to be gluten-free!

Pizza has always been my favorite food. Living in Chicago, pizza is something that is near and dear to my heart. And because I cannot imagine my life without pizza, I prefer gluten-free pizzas to traditional ones. YES…you CAN definitely eat pizza while following a better-for-you lifestyle.

Gluten free diets have gotten a lot of attention lately. Gluten free can benefit just about everyone, eliminating harmful carbs and replacing them with healthy alternatives. Consumption of too much gluten is linked with bloating, weight gain, and skin issues. People claim to feel better and more energetic with a gluten free diet, helping them even lose a little weight.

Recently I came across Freschetta Gluten Free pizza while I was grocery shopping, and I couldn’t stop myself from popping this into my shopping cart. Freschetta Gluten Free Pizza is certified by the National Celiac Association and it comes in two delicious flavors – Pepperoni and Four Cheese. The Four Cheese pizza is a combination of mozzarella, savory asiago, rich fontina, and parmesan. Yum!! What instantly caught my eye was that all Freschetta Gluten Free pizza crusts are preservative-free. I couldn’t wait to get home and try it for myself!

Freschetta Gluten Free

FreschettaThe instructions on the packaging say you have to cook it at 450 degrees for approx. 15 minutes. I followed the instructions and was surprised to see the crust puffed up nicely, baked well, and was crisp even after removing it from the oven. I have come across gluten free pizza in the past where the crust is uncooked or does not bake evenly, so I was pretty impressed with Freschetta’s Gluten Free Four Cheese Pizza. I love that it has a crispy crust, and the cheese blend is perfect. The sauce is so full of flavor…you can’t even tell it is gluten-free. This is by far my favorite gluten free pizza. You can find Freschetta Gluten Free Pizza in the freezer aisle of grocery stores nationwide.

Frescchetta Gluten Free PizzaDo check this out if you are on a self-care plan and check out my other tips to stay on track for the new year.

 1) Start the year with a healthy detox to help reboot your body and mind: I usually do a 2-day juice cleanse at the start of the year. This helps my body rejuvenate by flushing out all the toxins and waste.

2) Cook at home, switch to clean eating, and superfoods that promote healthy gut bacteria: Since I’m working from home, we rarely order food from outside. I prefer sticking to home-cooked food. I also eat a lot of green leafy vegetables and have cut down on my caffeine intake. Drinks like kombucha also help a lot in improving digestion and strengthening the immune system.

3) Avoid processed food and go gluten free if you have celiac disease or gluten sensitivity: I am sensitive to gluten, so I avoid processed food as much as possible. If you are a regular reader of my blog you must be aware that I include a lot of gluten free bread, gluten free cookies, and brownies in my diet. Freschetta Gluten Free Pizza is also a great way to enjoy your favorite food without feeling guilty!

If you’re looking for a great pairing with a gluten-free pizza, I recommend trying Chardonnay and some Kale & Pineapple Salad.  I hope you all liked reading this post. Let me know your 2021 self-care plan in the comments below.
