Hi friends! Soon its going to be the beginning of the Fall Season, which means cute jackets, pumpkin spice lattes and lots of Fall shopping! Having said that, I was recently invited by the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg to check out the Fall collection at various stores. I was super excited about this opportunity and decided to visit the mall on the weekend.
It was a Saturday afternoon and I was all geared up for shopping. As I walked across the mall, different aromas wafted towards me tempting me to indulge in some scrumptious food despite my heavy lunch. But I resisted the urge as I had plenty of shopping planned ahead! Shopping is my favorite form of cardio and to make things even better I was handed over a gift card to do my shopping and I couldn’t be more excited! I was so thrilled to explore especially after looking at the range of brands Woodfield Mall had.
My first stop was Zara. The fall collection had everything right from animal prints, floral prints to plaid. I’ve been a big fan of Zara and wanted to try almost everything! They have the most minimalistic collection and set the trend for other brands. Plus, the clothes are quite affordable as well. What more would anyone want? I tried two outfits. First was a suede trench coat in red. The coat was super soft and perfect for Fall and will look lovely when worn over an evening dress. The second was a floral jacquard blazer. The floral print can make any dress look flattering. It had one button that cinched at the waist and will look good when paired with a formal shirt and trousers. The blazer can make any outfit look fun and suits well for the Fall.
Next, I visited Alter’D State. They house a colorful and feminine collection with lace detailing and floral prints. It is one of my favorite apparel stores. The super cute setup and ambience of the store adds to its charm. Just like their latest motto – Keep Climbing – every collection of Alter’D State is better than the last one. Again, I tried two outfits. The first one was a floral print dress with a lace overlay. It had a zipper at the back and fit quite snugly, giving me a chance to show off my curves. It will work well as a day dress, something I can wear for a brunch or an informal office party. The second outfit I tried was a purple dress with lace detailing. The fabric was rich and lightweight which I loved the most. The dress can be worn both in fall and summer making it versatile. It can be paired with open-toed sandals or pastel mules. I would wear this dress to the beach or when I’m catching up with my girlfriends over coffee.
The third store I visited was Armani Exchange. It had a whimsical Fall collection characterized by dark hues and eccentric design. The insane collection satisfied the quirky side of me. I tried a double-breasted trench coat which had an all over patent finish. It had a belt that cinches at the waist with deep pockets on the sides. This trench coat will soon be a rage; what with the three colors it comes in – red, black and green. It is a wardrobe essential coat that fashionistas should definitely have. I’m completely obsessed with the fabric. This coat can be worn over a short dress with OTK boots.
My fourth and last stop was Express Clothing. This one’s another favorite! They house an incredible Fall collection including sweaters, trousers, tops, dresses, and leggings. Their range of clothes is Instagram-worthy. They also have an offer going on – Buy 1 full priced item and get 1 at $19.19. I first tried a front-open yellow cardigan. The cardigan was warm, cozy and perfectly suited for Fall. The vibrant color of the cardigan makes it look all bright and sunny. My last outfit for the day was a plaid coat. This basic coat is a classic and a must-have for the Fall season. It buttons at the waist and looks very chic. Pairing it with knee-length or ankle-length boots will make any outfit look stylish.
Apart from the above stores, I also visited Aldo Shoes, American Eagle and Anthropologie. It was 5 pm by the time I was done. I collected my goodie bag and also received a complimentary card for food and drinks. Woodfield Mall has something for everybody. It isn’t just a mall but an all-day extravaganza. It is one of the largest shopping malls in the State of Illinois with over 300 stores and restaurants. With a courteous staff and cordial management, it is one of the best malls I have visited until today.
Shopping at Woodfield Mall was the perfect way to spend my weekend.. thank you so much for having me over! I hope I’ve lured all of you into visiting the mall. Do let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

September 25, 2018 at 5:13 pmLOL I love your notion of shopping as cardio! That was definitely my shopping when I still had a kid in preschool – as in, can I knock off all my shopping stops in the window between dropoff and pickup? True cardio workout for sure!
